ive made so many soaps
but three of them are kind of meh. only one survived
and originally i thought it failed.

turns out the orris resinoid from france is so amazing for soap
just the tiniest amount and the scent of the soap is sweet and fine

the three soaps that failed... well i made one large loaf and split it in three.
mixed the lye water and oil, and then seperated the batter into three for scenting

after a little while i noticed the first soap had already set and gelled and cracked and was forming an oily layer on top

then the second soap looked a bit oily too

the third soap set up so fast, it didnt even look like it was going to gel.

then the first soap was super oil layer-y and i thought to mix it, which was a bad idea, all clumpy and oily inside the mold.

i went to bed all sad my soaps didnt work out and i wasted three batches of fragrances i made.

the next day the first soap, i rebatched. my first rebatch.
looked up kathy millers site on why my soaps failed... and i realized
when i mixed the whole batch, the coconut oil was already cooling and forming globules
and it didnt mix enough before i poured the soap out one by one to add the fragrance.
since the first was so oily and the last lye heavy i figured the lye water sunk to the bottom and it wasnt well mixed.

so the first oily soap i chunked up very easily and melted in a mini crock pot
then i made 200 grams of stronger lye soap, then i mixed the two together
and it turned into this weird paste in 15 seconds
then it turned back into a weird gel so i blended it again
and it started hardening and it was this fluffy cream sand texture
and i kept mixing it and glopped it into the mold, then i topped off the bumpy top with plain soap.
i cut this soap today and its slightly firmer than the second soap.

so ive been pretty sad about my failed soaps but for the lye heavy soap im going to make it into laundry soap.

this is my failed soap update and its all i have the energy to blab about tonight.
