Small Quilted Items!!: Sweet & Simple Patchwork Gifts: 25 Charming Projects to Make Using Classic Quilt Motifs

Go figure the book is from 2012 !

https://www.amazon.ca/Sweet-Simple-Patchwork-Gifts-Charming/dp/0312591365

Here it is from Amazon but I borrowed mine from the Palmerston library which I found from my area had the most sewing and fiber craft books! I think its all the Italian women in the neighbourhood!

I first tried the hexagon pattern. I dont know why. Then I realized I did not add seam allowance so everything was small. Then I didnt finish it. I will though, its adorbs.

Then I tried this project but I gave up after two blocks (lol) because I was doing it by and and Im impatient... then it got stolen ! I was annoyed so then I made this one in storage.
ugh look at the back its so messy i didnt actually follow the placement of the corners and just whatevered it.
this one with bunnies was the one that got stolen. booooo i dont know if i have anymore of that bunny fabric, its a chinese print, thin cotton. so cute

so i just remade it with the same polka dot houndstooth... its less cute actually! damn!

The book is a super great starter book if you like the japanese aesthetic, im not sure what makes it so, the authours are japanese and the design of the book itself reminds me of aranzi aronzo books, i love this style of diy sewing book.

support your local library, and mind!

there are super cute projects, the house ones! actually the house block i can show which is part of my latest project but i will just wait until its done (add zipper) to post cos i kind of want to make a tutorial for it so ill need to make it twice.

Adjusted Bodice Sloper *new pics added*

Bought this dress for 5 bucks at a clearance shop with the idea of fixing it, and I did, just didn't do a super perfect job lol

Anyway I was able to make a sloper that fits my body perfectly and that was worth it because I've been *wanting* to make underwear but haven't really taken any steps towards making any (need a new machine with the zigzag stitch-the one with three stitches per zag) until I made this pattern.

this is the back part of the dress. i already took the front part off
this is the lining. i used this to make my pattern. you can see the original size on the left side, and on the right side i've put the two pieces closer together to make it smaller.
i can't really remember how i figured out how to adjust the boob parts. i think i just pinched the fabric and marked it and guesstimated. oh wait. i didnt guesstimate that much cos you need to match up the measurements. when everything was adjusted i traced the fabric pieces on paper and cut it out and thats now my pattern.
here is the lining all sewed up, i did a running stitch and fitted it to make sure, then went over it with the machine
this is the denim/front part. the cups had a fused interface which i didn't remove.
the weird part was i couldn't remember how the lining and the front was attached. it was kinda complicated, the bottoms of the cups were somehow blind stitched onto the front but the rest was loose ugh. i dunno what i did- had to turn the thing inside out and pass it through itself. it was really confusing
amazingly enough i managed to save most of the original topstitched-washed edges on the front side and was able to follow along those lines so here it is all sewed up and ready to re-attach back onto the dress. tbh i think this pic might be the front part before i took it apart. wait a second, this make shift tute is getting progressively worse.
anyway, its done now but i didnt do that good of a job and its a bit wonky. probably because i was too lazy to take the original zipper completely off and i didnt really think about it. so yeah...

so here are the pics of me wearing it all wonky.

its not much work to do it again so when i have time and do some sewing ill finish it. maybe lol
it needs a lot of work like it needs maybe a bra sewed in the cups if i ever wanted to wear it without a bra. hah im so lazy. ok yeah so probably itll look great with a strapless bra. i dont have one.

ok and here is the zipper side. see what i mean i was being impatient. and look at the results. horrible. also i need to take it in more so its fit perfect. that would also help the bralessness issue.
this is the other side and see what i mean? i need to sew it in where the dark parts are and it will be a better fit with the fixed zipper side. duh. and match up with the belt. double duh did you see the zipper side belt part lol
pa dah its all wonky and shiz you guyses. i dunno. but i have a pattern now and yeah ok i guess it could be ok. for sleeping.
if redo it ill post it again.

oh let me take pics of the inside and ill post here.

Mini Coin Purse Keychain

So cute! gah
I bought these little purse clasps a long while ago but only made this recently. It's so cute...... hehe it would make the cutest bag for one of my Blythe dolls....

I made a curtain

Yay!
And now I am going to put them up. Well I made one. It was originally tacked and suction cup hooked to the window. I know, classy. But now that I sewed the pinned fabrics together and made an actual curtain I went to the hardware store today, which was closed (thanks google) but the dollar store was open so instead bought 4 long bamboo poles for $2.50. Yeah it was great cos the poles were all bundled up in fours but they were all kind of thin except the 4 that weren't bundled up that I got and they were hella thicker. Cool!
Ya and so here is a pic of the curtain I made. Its from one yard of the eyelet and half a yard of the other cotton. I just copied a real curtain I bought at a store. How the fabric attaches to the pole. It was a little more work but it looks better when drawn, not all bunched up but kind of wavy.

pa dah!

Yeah so to attach the rod I bought some brass furniture tacks and made loops with a woven strap and tacked them to the wall-ceiling part.

Yeah I am so stoked ok I'm gonna make more for the other windows... wonder what kinds of fabrico will be nice?

Merp

merp oh merp
and the heat came down
and the heat came doooowwwwn
i knew
i was living in a long long dream
when you fed me the
black ice cream.

the heat rose up
the heat rose up
i heard the loud loud buzzing
of their girls gold card
and the ice cream was blacker
than the devils heart
it was september of mid 2007
they fixed their eyes on yous
they fixed their eyes on yous

heres a good comment i found in UEN regarding merp:

I think one of the most disturbing thing in this for me is that they are banning BUYERS..ok, control your sellers, they represent Etsy and what shoppers can expect from the site as a whole…but to ban buyers?? Those who have invested a LOT of funds as well as energy and intellect on behalf of a handcrafting community, when they simply could have just gone on their merry way after their first purchase on Etsy.

What sort of “word of mouth” do they expect to get from this as a whole if they are kicking off buyers?
