i forgot to post about the blim market last sunday. ooops. ill do better for this next one coming up.

im moving to toronto in may! omg. i have so much to do still. i cant wait! ill feel sad alvaro cant come right away and ill miss him dearly. but i will be glad to live with people i like and admire!

this week im restocking the goods, pretty freedom, dream and virgin marys and i will also be sending stuff out to new zealand. i hope its your life finds a home in one of the lovely stores in that part of the world. been meaning to send stuff out there for about 6 months now!!

ugh. ok so im going back to work. trying to clean my room and declutter my work area. it never happens properly then it gets all messy again. alvaro playing heavy metal music full blast isnt helping...better go ask him to turn it down.

Blim will be presenting a monthly Main Street Community Market this month to take place for the first time, in Heritage Hall on Main and 15th. 2 blocks north of Blim.

This Months market will include 48 vendors, music, hot food, beverages, and entertainment. Vendors will include food, fashion, accessories, supplies, fine art, vintage items and records, and not be limited to crafts, and there will be a focus on nurturing and promoting creative production in our community. We want to appeal to young, old, hip, plain, babies, animals, men, women, everyone.

We are very excited about this event and what it can contribute to Main Street’s artistic vitality, and how it can help support and encourage the local creative community.

New Stock in Virgin Marys!

 

here is some of the new stuff i brought in earlier. 

brought in one pair of the new image earrings..the only silhouette pair.. im going to make a batch of anchors, bows and silhouettes in different colors for virgin marys and will bring it in mid-next week.

 

some of the stuff in my online shop is now available at virgin marys. like the sweet escutcheon earrings called "Eternity" in my shop. cute little key holes for your ears... the large rusty bird cage necklace "Summer Song" and the mini bird cage and bird "Cloud Bluff", the charming bird cage and bow necklace "Spring Song" and a longer version of "Lotus Song" hmm lots of singing going on here ;D well there is a lot to be happy about! Sunshine, and lots of it!

short trip somewhere

ive been looking for a place to go with alvaro for a 2-3 day trip near vancouver. found hellobc to be a pretty good starting point. might need to ask people where to go too cos we dont have a car. but tomorrow tuesday is his day off and i am going to ask him out on a date to the planetarium. i have 60 bucks and it'll only be 30 for the both of us plus transit. i hope it rains. hah.

....so we didnt end up going to the space center. yet. went to stanley park for 6 hours running around the forest and pretending to get lost, dodging pairs of happy men, and made new wildlife creature friends. while we were eating chips i started to notice my, my. how friendly these creatures in stanley park are. this squirrel was alvaros favorite. mine too, in very future retrospect. we named him nibblet. when we go back we might feed the racoon and ducks. real animal food. not mini oreos and potato chips. but i did notice how fluffy nibblets coat is, and assume its from his diet.

whew! that wuz fast

januarys ending! we are in the future!

so far ive restocked the following shops:

-virgin marys
-the goods
-cest la vie
-room6
-barefoot contessa
-dream

and now its time to restock virgin marys again!

this months been pretty rough. used all the cash i made during christmas to pay off my visa. then used the rest of the money to buy supplies. i needed a major restock! then alvaros job fired him on december 26 cos he didnt want to work overtime for christmas (is that even legal) so hes been working for me in jan. not very sustainable! though i really want it to be...however much we hope it would be...
we had to resort to the food bank accessible to alvaro...which was freakin awesome! i mean the food bank gave us so much food. one super stuffed bag of fresh veggies and one crazy full bag of groceries. each! for a week. and nice groceries too like organic strawberry yogurt cereal and brown rice choco treats, granola bars and mac and cheese (i never buy these) staple cans of beans and tuna, 4 gatorades? and quite a bit more. the 4 pounds i lost this month, i probably gained it all back in one food bank day.
basically its been really hard (well not that hard in comparison to like what, 80% of the worlds population geesh) but anyway im so glad january is over. thank god ive restocked the shops to infinity and now im pretty sure we wont bank on the food bank again. yikes. but man i love food bank food.

its been pretty fun for me! ive been updating it with pictures of the shops and actual designs in the shops. i left it totally open so even if you dont have a facebook you can look around (i think)

i wish i could post my new designs in my online shop as quickly! but all the photoshop recoloring and resizing takes away from the spontaneity. i dunno. just lazy i guess. which doesnt really help me now does it.

oh yeah another thing about joining the fan page is that there are discount codes on there for the online shop.
speaking of which i have set aside some pieces for valentines day which i should upload, pronto! yikes still cant believe its the end of january already.

but back to the fanpage, im pretty stoked on how easy it is. it would be great if people uploaded pics of themselves wearing the stuff i make. maybe that could be a contest for the future..but i guess only to facebook users. kind of lame. hmm. oh yeah the newsletter. i remember spending quite a few hours compiling all the newsletter emails and never did send out the letter! gee um hey, told you i wouldnt spam you. like, totally never hear from me even. heh.

ok this is long and boring. im so boring these days. where has my energy gone. when i look at my old posts (like years ago) i was a blog posting frantic manic! i wanna be like that again, on my website. dont it always seem to go that you dont know what youve got till its gone.

gaaahhh its SO NICE! room6 is in deep cove, north van! might i also mention room6 is a mecca for teh cute. zakka. stuffies. cards. undies. ceramics. art. clothing. accessories. jewellery. local amazingness. imported amazingness. omg, like, totally. i mean it! i know there are some IYL customers up there as ive sent packages to yous through the years... but duudes... getting there on public transit is ... but we wanted to go on a day date and we did! alvaro came so we could 'go kayaking' and 'maybe take a nap' (both did not happen as it is 'Winter Time')

man is it nice out there. we are going to go back to deep cove for some extra curricular activities when it gets sunnier.
