ok i am going to post pics. even in the old posts where i said i would insert pics but never did. wishing myself luck!! (an hour and a half later, yes. i have done it. it wasnt so bad. it just took a while. my leg is asleep, reminding me not to sit so still for so long.)

here are some of the new pieces i brought to virgin marys earlier! lots of earrings. these earrings are perfect "stocking stuffers" the key hole / escutcheon charms and the filigree scrolls beside them are $18 because they are pure brass, hand oxidized and finished by alvaro and i. all the rest of the charm earrings are made of alloy metal and are priced $15 a pair. yay! the silver birds with the swarovski crystals are also $18, while the tiny silver wings and the cicada studs are $10. all in store now at Virgin Marys @ 1136 Commercial Drive.

here is some of the new stuff i brought in earlier. 

brought in one pair of the new image earrings..the only silhouette pair.. im going to make a batch of anchors, bows and silhouettes in different colors for virgin marys and will bring it in mid-next week.

 

some of the stuff in my online shop is now available at virgin marys. like the sweet escutcheon earrings called "Eternity" in my shop. cute little key holes for your ears... the large rusty bird cage necklace "Summer Song" and the mini bird cage and bird "Cloud Bluff", the charming bird cage and bow necklace "Spring Song" and a longer version of "Lotus Song" hmm lots of singing going on here ;D well there is a lot to be happy about! Sunshine, and lots of it!

mannnn ok i gotta get to work.
so i uploaded a couple new necklaces in my shop. they are lovely and i would keep them for myself.
but i keep fudging up on the pics uploading. gotta fix that.

so this weekend, on the 14th which is SUNDAY i am doing 2 fairs. Andrea of GotCraft is going to be selling some of my stuff for me at the GOTCRAFT fair at Little Mountain Studios while ill be over on Main St. for the Car Free Day at BLIM. I always used to do the car free day on commercial drive with amber at virgin mary's but now she is beside the portuguese club and she told me they have a sausage pit going on for the duration of the festival. and its a hundred dollars to set up outside (your own) shop-it was free before. so as not to smell like sausages ill be at blim. also alvaro is going to make some food for eating (at blim)

flat broke right now. i am. lazy. need to get into more shops and make more stuff but i am lacking supplies like gold chain. looks like ill be oxidizing charms like crazy and trying different stuff.

so now i gotta get back to work. i think i need to make around 120 pieces of jewelry. id love it to be more, though. but i wonder if i can do it. 40 for barefoot contessa so i can pick up a check, 30 for andrea, 50 for me at blim.


last week we went to the peaches concert which was so freaking rad and then starved for like, 2 days. heh

the small 4 piece boxes are pretty awesome... Oh yes. hes going to be bringing the chocolate at the blim fair on the 26th.

so yeah! now simons going to take some pics and stuff.. i brought some of the choolate here to manila and everyone really liked it but i didnt take any pics! i just arrived!! and of course i didnt bring the camera.........

Car Free Festival vids

the car free festival was great! so much fun and lots of good people :D took a couple of short videos... this one is of a band passing. pretty boring! basically my view when sitting down behind my table.



this video is of this dude who was rapping with his guitar.. he was really good actually! nice and political and independent thinking. but i only got this bit of him... and duh, i had the camera on its side for half the video ><

this virgin mary necklace i brought as an afterthought, thinknig this would be perfect for amber. duh. and she saw it right away and took it (bought it) but the craziest part was the fact that it matched her outfit and earrings (and store namesake) so perfectly. like she knew i was going to bring her this crazy matching necklace. too good!

and here i am behind my table. trying to look respectable.

Car Free Festival, Felt and Filters

last night i sorted and turned on some email filters via sender and it worked! omg. why didnt i do it before? duh. now i think my inbox is going to be less hectic.
wish i could turn on and sort my brain filters too!

sold an item on felt the other day but now seriously dont know how it works really the buyer didnt reply to me yet....i still need to upload items onto there. its in new zealand dollars though so my pieces seem so expensive to me when i convert from canadian. yikes. you need to load your account with 10 bucks (nz bucks) then the first 5 listings need to be 'approved' and takes a few days, then when someone buys something it deducts again from your 10 bucks..so ive listed 2 items, sold one and my balance is now 7.65. then i got an email from felt, but no buyer email and it says its up to me and the buyer. i mean if the buyer can see my full name and address id like at least to get an email address to send an invoice to no? this is kind of like how dawanda does it but not coz i havent paid dawanda anything they havent yet asked "D scary. hope i wont end up owing them like a bunch of cash in the near future coz i havent really figured that out or anything ><

this month is turning out to be some sort of internal battle with habits i must need to break in order to become the kind of person i want to be. wow deep.

also check this out my shop blog is now up and ready for updates and will be announced in the next newsletter. i can add media to it!! its a wordpress blog and lia made it last night! so now its part of the shop only, and this blog is going to go somewhere not wanted to be seen. like maybe in the about section. havent yet done anything but looked at it last night. mm i should delete that mandatory comment tho ><

plated gold!

i still have no gold anode. i bought a pair of 18kt gold earrings from an ex-favorite supplier of mine but never got them so i had to get a refund. then today im polishing these brass lockets and am really wanting them to be plated gold. so i figure i might as well try now while the urge is urgent. no anode, i used a length of 10kt filled gold wire and it totally worked! but the color is so dark gold almost orange-y coz its 10kt. its ok though the wire is not usable anymore coz ees so ugly and eaten away now!
so now im all getting obsessed and really want to get plating all this brass stuff i have so i was looking for a lapidary place or some kind of supply and finally! found a place right downtown so i dont have to go as far as i originally thought (burnaby. heh, its not even that far) but anyway this place, its on smithe! lacy west. so im gonna go tomorrow coz later today i have a meeting with marie from plenty. cross fingers ill be supplying them with jewelry soon? :D could be rad.
also, im updating new stuff to briers by this friday. also wanted to see if there is need for more pieces at virgin marys, so i think i will just make as much stuff as i can finishing the chain i have here. whew. vacations over.
